Jerky Marinade Recipe

In the spirit of long road trips for the holidays, fire up your dehydrators and marinate some turkey in this bad boy:

1 tbsp – Garlic Powder
2 tsp – Onion Salt
2 tsp – Ground Pepper
1 tbsp – Honey
5 tbsp – Liquid Smoke
1/4 cup – Teriyaki (I used a Yoshida’s Sweet & Savory marinade)
1/4 cup – Your favorite BBQ Sauce
2/3 cup – Soy Sauce
2/3 cup – Worcestershire Sauce
2/3 cup – Steak Sauce
4 tbsp – Kirkland Steak Seasoning

Not much to this one:

Slice up turkey breast in to long thin slices (you can also use beef)
Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl
Marinate the meat for at least 24 hours (48 makes it even better)
Dehydrate for about 5 to 6 hours at 140 degrees

Check it every hour or so and move your trays around if necessary.
Watch it around 4 to make sure it’s not getting to dried out.

BTW, the kids love this stuff so enjoy with the whole family!

  2. I’m a professional chef and I have just begun learning more about kosher eating. I came across your site by chance. I hope you plan on bringing more recipes and ideas. Also, I would like to send some recipes I’ve been developing to you for your site. I am not Jewish but I think kosher cooking is great. It’s also a welcome challenge for me. Hope to see more soon! Good luck!

  3. Thomas, thanks for the comment. Sometimes Kosher cooking can be a big challenge but a fun one. Now that it’s a new year, I’m going to post some more of my recipes and invite my friends to submit recipes as well. I have a great group of Jewish friends and we are always trading recipes which is what originally prompted me to start this site. I would love for you to submit me your recipes and of course I will give you full credit for your submissions. Thanks again for finding me and best of luck on your Kosher cooking journey 🙂
